La Toscana: Villas and gardens
Boboli Gardens
Labyrinths, grottoes, fountains, statues and hiding places make the Boboli Gardens a great diversion for children, not to mention the amazing views over the city.
Le Cascine
Florence’s largest park to the west of the city, is also the site of regular fairs and markets. Racehorses are often exercised in the Ippodroma in the early mornings. There is also a public swimming pool (via della Catena 2- open only during the summer) and various playgrounds.
Parco Carraia

This little known park surrounded by countryside, has swings, picnic benches and plenty of green space for a good game of football. The friendly Carraia Tennis Club is just up from the park and offers a variety of activities for children including tennis and calcetto (football).

Out of Town
Why not escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take the kdis off for a day trip by car, bus or train. Alternatively go for a one day bike ride organised by I bike Italy. Open all year round they promise to make your day enjoyable and crowd free.
